That the insurance companies---surprise, surprise--- skim off more money than traditional, i.e. government administered, Medicare does is one thing.
The salient fact is, however, that senior, often lower income, MA plan members can find affordable health coverage in these plans like in no other private enterprise way.
So, let Obama lecture greedy executives, and perhaps legislate means-testing for these plans---say $40,000 income tops and $250,000 in assets.
But please "Dear Congress: Don't throw out J.Q Baby Sr. with the bathwater!

Hi pj

No need to keep policies affordable when they are mandatory... Also, the Medicare Advantage plans that the author touts are essentially a scam, costing taxpayers approximately 15% more than traditional Medicare.

With all due respect, the last sentence in your article is puzzling.
"Now more than ever, it's important to keep health insurance affordable for everyone, including seniors."
This statement implies that that health insurance is currently affordable.
