[...] We also oppose significant increases in the Affordability Schedule. Affordability should be defined by real peoples’ costs and situations. The current frame is backwards. Affordability is not affected by external factors such as who will fall out from under the mandate, or rising premiums, or overall cost increases for Commonwealth Care.
Rev. Hamilton,

Dream on. The Connector and their following have one interest only: maintaining budget neutrality so the state can continue to receive the 1115 waiver that will help prop up this punitive and wasteful law.

Unfortunately, the farthest thing from their minds is the financial problems facing all of us who are paying penalties because we could not afford the "affordable" insurance. And they don't care if we don't have insurance because their goal is money. They'll get it however they can.

The Connector added a $10 surcharge to Commonwealth Choice plans for a certain category of people, a heavier burden of health care costs was recently thrown onto the backs of state workers by Mr. Patrick to help shoulder the burdgeoning deficit of this sham reform that will hurt the state in more ways than one and Mr. Gruber wants to raise the penalties to force people to purchase the insurance they could not afford. You have to wonder if this fellow has a moral compass.

And they will continue to rachet up the ante because all money is green, and we are the source that they need to maintain that oh, so important, budget neutrality.

We all need to survive this mess until it falls apart and that will require more than prayers. Legislators must be made accountable and hard-working taxpayers must speak out to the media and let them know how this law is hurting them. Let friends in other states know and tell them to spread the word so that the entire country does not fall prey to the spin that the MA health insurance law is a success and the answer to the health care crisis in this country.

Millions upon millions of dollars have been spent to garner profit for the greedy insurance companies and also lines the pockets of some of the MA elected officials.

If the Connector listens to your prayers, I will be mighty surprised.
